Tufpak was founded in 1976 to bring to the retail packaging industry a new technology started in Europe that used the extraordinary strength and paper-like crispness of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). The new plastic film, allowed for the fabrication of merchandise bags superior in strength and graphic printing, compared to then used paper bags in retail stores. Autoclavable biohazard waste bags (autoclave bags) designed to meet all state and federal regulations (Tufpak is the only approved supplier of autoclavable, polypropylene bags meeting the most stringent requirements of the state of Florida, Pennsylvania and the US DOT regulations for interstate transport).
